Hugh Edgy is a 2023 C/RHP, 3B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from Brunswick, GA who attends Glynn Academy. A taller and strong frame with imposing physicality. Ran a 7.46 in the sixty yard dash. A primary catcher, starts with a wider base and comfort in his set up. Gains ground while receiving out front with ok timing. Popped a 1.98 on his last repetition. A right-handed hitter, starts balanced and slightly open with the base and uses a small leg lift trigger. Strong with the barrel through the zone and uses a very good gap to gap approach. Some power potential. A secondary pitcher, uses a short take away and a quick arm stroke on the back. Uses his base well and gets good extension at release, 3/4 slot and stays through the ball well. Controls his two pitch mix around the plate and forces lots of early contact. Excellent student.
