Mike Korchinski is a 2022 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from New City, NY who attends Albertus Magnus. Recorded a 7.30 second sixty-yard dash time. Medium, high waisted frame with square shoulders and room to add strength. Primary right-handed pitcher; full windup delivery with chest high leg lift, good lower half movements down the slope and extension through release. Simple, repeatable operation with good downhill plane to his fastball and short life to the arm-side. Fastball worked in the upper-70s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 81 mph from an over-the-top arm slot. Shows good command to both sides of the plate, fills up the zone with fastball early and then mixes in developing curveball that flashes 11-5 shape for strikes. Secondary outfielder with short, quick footwork into the fielding process. Fields with two hands out in front, works uphill through gather into a a higher arm slot to throw. Recorded arm strength up to 80 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and and slight toe-tap trigger. Incorporates short, direct hand path to start his swing, while staying fairly compact throughout. Middle-of-the field approach with consistent bat-to-ball skills, feel for the barrel and occasional line drive impact. Fundamentally sound defensive skill set with velocity upside on the mound, will continue to improve as he continues to make mechanical adjustments and add strength. Excellent Student.
