Spencer Thomas is a 2021 3B/RHP, 1B, 2B with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Scottsdale, AZ who attends Chaparral HS. Spencer is a tall, broad shouldered. strong and athletic player. He ran 7.66 60-yard dash. On the mound, Spencer looks the part. He uses classic mechanics with a shorter takeaway, an extended finish and his 3/4 slot. His operation is smooth and easy. His 76-78 mph FB shows consistent arm side run/bore and heavy sink. His 69-mph breaking ball is more cutter-like in nature and has a short late movement. Obvious pitching potential is present. On the IF, Spencer extends well out front to field. His glove plays and he uses a solid arm stroke that produces throws that were in the 73-mph range across the diamond. At the plate, Spencer stays inside the ball well and has a middle-of-field to opposite field swing path. He shows a consistent ability to get his barrel to contact. Academically, Spencer is an outstanding student!
