Nicholas Urioste is a 2024 OF/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Somerset, NJ who attends Delbarton. High-waisted, slender build with some lean muscle present throughout his frame. 7.37-second runner during the sixty. Primary outfielder, passive approach to the ball, fielding off to the side with a deep funnel. Got on top of the ball well with a longer arm action, showcasing some present arm strength working up to 81 mph on his throws to the bases. Secondary right-handed pitcher, full wind up with a slight side rocker step. Uses his long levers to create some downhill deception, coming from an over-the-top slot. Fastball displayed life through the zone as he worked it on both sides of the plate during his two innings of work. Showed full arsenal during his outing. Curveball showed 11-5 shape with some vertical depth, landing it for strikes consistently. Killed spin on his change-up that had late tumbling action through the zone. Some swing-and-miss projection as he continues to gain more experience on the mound. Sat 77-79 mph with his heater that should continue to tick up as he adds strength. Right-handed pitcher, sets ups with a slightly open stance, high-hand set, and a high back elbow. Compact hand speed with a line-drive stroke, showing the ability to create lift as he went yard during his round of BP. Found consistent barrels during his round as he showcased his bat-to-ball skills. Excellent student.
