Alan Hernandez Rodriguez is a 2027 SS/2B with a 5-7 150 lb. frame from Caguas, PR who attends Colegio Notre Dame. Shorter athletic build. 7.10 runner in the sixty, has run a 6.68 at a past PG showcase. Primary shortstop on defense, has active feet and plays with energy, quick twitch actions, clean to the back hand and has good arm strength from the hole, fielded everything cleanly and has a a quick release, made accurate throws. Right handed hitter, sets up in a medium slightly open stance with a deep late hand load and small leg raise trigger, gets into his lower half well to generate bat speed, showed barrel control and the ability to get the barrel out front, mostly pull side contact, aggressive swing approach that worked for him. Also took a turn on the mound, works from an uptempo delivery with a compact arm action, tends to cut himself off out front. Worked mostly with a fastball that topped out at 82 mph to go with a soft curveball. Good student. Named to the PG World Showcase Top Prospect List.
