Asher DeLeo is a 2022 RHP/1B with a 6-1 190 lb. frame from Bothell, WA who attends Bothell. Taller frame with long limbs and a lean build. Frame projects to support additional strength. Primary right handed pitcher who worked exclusively from the stretch. Compact leg lift and stayed balanced on back side at gather. Deep arm circle at take back and released from a three-quarters slot. Fastball generated good downhill tilt through the zone with some cutting life to glove side, topped at 82 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with solid spin and good depth in the uper 60's. Also flashed a straight changeup in the low 70's. Located each offering to the bottom quadrants of the zone and induced weaker contact. Also worked out defensively from first base showing clean glove actions while funneling the baseball. Showed good range with clean footwork while working around the bag. Right handed hitter with an upright, open stance and medium leg lift trigger. Works to contact with rotational lower half actions. Loose hand path to baseball with a lifted barrel plane through extension. Showed developing feel for the barrel while employing a mid field approach. Flashed some jump off the barrel to the gaps when on time and squared. Good student as well.
