2005 Pitcher/Catcher Indoor Showcase
Christopher Novikoff is a 2005 RHP/IF/OF from Madisonville, Tennessee, with a projectable 6'6", 215 lb. frame. He is a tall and lanky pitcher with a long, smooth arm circle, and a simple leg lift delivery. He has a high 3/4 release point and gets a good downward plane to the plate on his fastball with good extension out front. Novikoff's fastball topped out at 87 mph, but his fastball is fairly straight because of his high release point. He has depth to his curveball with good bite at times from 64-68 mph. His curveball has 12 to 6 tilt because of his release point. Novikoff is a very projectable pitcher with more velocity in his arm. He is a must follow on the mound. He is a right handed hitter with a balanced swing. He has a line drive swing plane with power potential. He attacks the ball, and squares up on pitches well. Novikoff has a bright future on the field and off. He is an outstanding student that could really help some of the top academic DI schools.
