2023 Coastal Workout Showcase
June Thomas is a 2025 RHP/1B/OF with a 6-0 135 lb. frame from Carthage, NC who attends The O'Neal School. Longer, lean frame with some wiry muscle and a lot of projection left for the this young athlete. Ran the 60 yard dash in a solid 7.19 seconds. Primary position RHP but took reps in the OF at this event. Moves well on his feet, gets to the ball well with proper angles to his approach. Glove work is on point, clean transfer as he squares to throw. Nice arm action, it really works with plenty of carry and accuracy with velocity up to 81 mph back to the infield. Switch hitter. From the left side, works from a medium and very open stance, with very active pre-pitch movements. High back elbow leading to a lofted bat path to impact. Once the timing of his swing is solidified he should see rapid improvement in consistency of hard contact. From the right side, he uses the same wide start and active hands pre-pitch. Rotational operation here with a shorter path to the ball. Stays back and turns hard to impact, squaring the ball up well at the end. Plenty to work with here and has the look of a promising prospect on the mound. Outstanding student as well.
