Luis Sosa is a 2025 1B/LHP/OF with a 5-11 190 lb. frame from Miami, FL who attends Felix Varela. Solid frame with strong current build and power oriented skillset. Ran the 60-yard dash in 7.88 seconds. Primary position infielder, with corner type actions but using feet well and covering ground. Basic glove actions with accuracy and firmness as he secures the ball. Quick to transfer in the midline and made the throws with comfort and accuracy with velo up to 87 mph at 1B and 85 mph from the outfield. Reps from the outfield with similar athleticism, good footwork and pretty clean carry on throws to bags. Secondary LHP, utilizing clean repeatable delivery with efficient use of the lower-half. Inline arm path in the back accelerating through a high 3/4 arm angle and living in the strike zone. Lively fastball up to 84 mph with decent spin and carry through the zone dominating hitters. Curveball with 2-8 shape and mostly vertical shape and late depth in the mid-60s. Changeup is viable third pitch, especially to righties with fading action in the upper-60s. Left handed hitter, working from an open base with solid handset and a bit of a wrapped top hand pre-pitch. When path was direct there was plenty of loud contact but will get a bit loopy in an effort to elevate. With swing refinement, there is a solid two-way skillset present. Excellent student too.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
