Samuel Mommer is a 2024 C/RHP/1B with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Oak Creek, WI who attends Thomas More. He has a big frame with a thick build and present strength with room to add more yet. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.81 seconds. Primary catcher that starts in an even stance has has quick footwork on his throws. He has a quick, chest high transfer and throws with a longer arm action. He has good arm speed when throwing to second base. Secondary right-handed pitcher that uses a knee to above the belt leg kick and utilizes drop and drive back leg mechanics. He does a nice job of working down the mound and in line with the plate. He has a long and in line arm action and fires from an over the top arm slot. His fastball has good life through the zone. His curveball has 12-6 shape and nice vertical drop. He also features a changeup that has good velocity differential from his fastball. Showed the ability to throw all three pitches for strikes. Right-handed hitter that starts in a narrow base and an upright stance with an even hand set. He uses a small leg lift trigger and his strength is evident in his swing. He has a smooth path and consistently made contact out in front of the plate. Named to the Midwest Indoor Top Prospect List. Very good student.
