Clint Jones is a 6'0" right handed pitcher/outfielder from Birmingham, AL with some good potential both ways and a good, projectable body. On the hill, Jones showed a loose arm with good arm speed and flashed some very good stuff. His fastball topped out at 84 mph and he also threw a 72 mph curveball that he tends to get under and a 70 mph change up. We probably like Jones a bit better right now as an outfielder. He has a good load and trigger at the plate and generates good bat speed with a quick, short path to the ball. Jones is going to get stronger and we’d expect him to start showing some more power as well. His defensive instincts in the outfield are very good for this level and he obviously has good arm strength as well. He runs well and appears to be very athletic. Clint is a good student.
