Johnny Nypaver is a 2027 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-10 145 lb. frame from York, SC who attends Legion Collegiate Academy. Medium current build, lean and high-waisted with good movement patterns and a whole lot of time for growth and physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 7.40 seconds. Primary position LHP, working from the full wind up, in line with the plate and efficient in his overall delivery. Gathers over the rubber in a strong manner, get the ball out on time and uses a low 3/4 arm angle to dominate the lower parts of the strike zone. Loose arm action producing lively FB in the 74-77 mph range inducing soft contact and swing/miss. CB is a a vertical 1/7 shaped pitch in the mid-60's performing well against RHH/LHH alike. Secondary 1B, showing good feet and awareness around the bag. Works the glove out front and shows good softness securing the ball. Made all the plays and looked the part doing it. LHH using a narrow start, high leg lift and stays balanced throughout. Showed adjustability with the barrel and looseness in the hands. Pull oriented approach with some loft and good projection for hitting down the line. Really good skillset for an athlete this young, should be a two-way impact prospect long term.
