Gus Buchheit is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-8 130 lb. frame from Mount Holly, NC who attends Christ The King. Medium frame with lean current build, room to add physicality and time to mature. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.61 seconds. Primary position outfielder, moving to the ball well with good angles. Solid fundamental actions, with good one-hand gather out front working through the ball. Full inline arm path creating throws up to 71 mph back to infield. Secondary LHP, full windup from the middle of the rubber, small step in front to a very abbreviated leg lift barely mid-thigh, holds hands at the chest and breaks into a very full slightly offline arm path, loose actions, accelerates through a low-3/4 arm angle, kid is fearless and turns the core pretty well to accelerate arm, fastball up to 73 mph with subtle arm side run, stays on the edges of the zone, can really snap off some spin on the breaking ball, sweeping breaker in the mid-60s up to 2,250+ rpms, nobody squared him up. RHH working from a medium and slightly open stance, good handset with some rhythm to his operation. Stayed on time and on the barrel. Swings with intent and power will come with strength gains. Outstanding student as well.
