Keith Mintschenko is a 2024 RHP/OF with a 5-10 135 lb. frame from West Grove, PA who attends Avon Grove HS. Keith is a fundamentally sound, younger athlete who has a maturing frame that should assist him as he continues to develop on the diamond. In addition to his ability on the field, Keith is also a solid achiever in the classroom. He ran a 7.83 60 yard dash. A primary RHP, Keith shows a solid understanding of the mechanical operation associated with being a prospective pitcher. Although he is a bit challenged by his lack of girth, he has a firm grasp on integrating his lower and upper halves and getting the ball consistently to the plate. When he hits his growth spurt, and he will, his 72-76 mph fastball, that shows some life, will make a certain jump in velocity. He has solid command and control ability now and appears to understand how to set up hitters and put them away. His 58 mph, 12/6 breaking curveball shows a solid foundation and will continue to develop with continued practice and exposure to higher level competition. Keith "gets it". It is now a matter of being patient and to continue to understand the development process. In the OF, Keith is deliberate and certain with his actions. His glovework is consistent and his 73 mph throws, while still a work in progress, sound mechanics and will certainly improve as his career continues. At the plate, Keith shows outstanding promise. He has a balanced stance at the ready and his quick load and trigger allow for his barrel to get to and through contact with some force. He has a definite feel for the barrel. When he adds a little physicality, he will develop an ability to power the baseball, because his swing path is pure. There is a lot to like about this young player. He has the right idea in all areas of his game. He just needs to keep working at his craft, get a little stronger, and push his limits.
