Connor Maiers is a 2023 MIF/RHP, 3B, OF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Peosta, IA who attends Western Dubuque. He has a tall frame with a strong, athletic build. Ran the sixty yard dash in 7.12 seconds. Primary middle infielder that has quick feet and uses choppy steps to get into good fielding position. He has clean mechanics and showed a good feel for the glove. He showed good body control working in all directions. He made accurate throws across the diamond from multiple different arm angles. Right-handed pitcher that features a knee to chest leg kick out of the wind up. He has a longer arm action and fries from a high 3/4 arm slot. His follow through is rotational. His fastball has good ride through the zone and he worked it to both sides of the plate well. His curveball has 12-6 shape with sharp bite and tons of downer action. He showed the ability to throw both pitches in the zone and went after hitters in all counts. Also worked out in the outfield, working around the ball well and firing accurately to the bases. Right-handed hitter that starts in a wider base with a square stance and a high back elbow. He uses a simple stride for timing and creates nice separation with his upper half. He is shorter to the ball with his rotational swing. He has a slightly uphill swing and looks to elevate the ball into the gaps. Named to the 2022 Midwest Prospect Showcase Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
