J. Reid Phillips is a 2021 OF/RHP with a 5-11 170 lb. frame from Bristol, GA who attends Pierce County. Medium frame with a lean build showing some room to fill down the road. Ran a 7.07 second sixty yard dash. Primary Outfielder, sitting back on the baseball before reading it off the bat and working through it. Shuffles into throws after gathering as he releases from a low three-quarter arm slot. Threw it 79 mph in drills with online throws. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working exclusively from the stretch. Sits on back leg with a belt high lift as he turns the front shoulder away from hitters a bit. Medium arm circle in the back before releasing from a three-quarter slot. Ran his fastball up to 80 mph and mixed in a 12-to-6 curveball that showed good depth. Right-Handed Hitter, starting from a spread out stance with an open front side. Big weight rock to the back side and then strides as the hands stay deep with a slight bat wrap over the head. Uphill swing path as he looks to drive the baseball back up the middle. Excellent Student.
