2003 South Underclass Showcase
Mire is just a sophomore right-hander with a big upside on the hill. He stands 6 foot 2 and weighs just 165 pounds. His body is long and lean and real projectable. He comes from a three quarters arm slot and his arm works well using a low effort delivery. He showed good velocity for a sophomore with an 80-84 mph fastball. His curveball came in at 65-68 mph and he threw a very good change-up that was advanced, maybe his best overall pitch right now. It was a 70-72 mph change-up with sink! His mechanics are quiet and his arm is smooth enough to project him well over the next couple years. He swung the bat well, spraying the ball to all fields, but his potential on the mound is the most interesting at this time. He is a very good student and one of the top 2006 follow pitchers in the south.
