2020 National Underclass Showcase-Main Event
Connor Nguyen is a 2023 C/3B with a 5-8 185 lb. frame from Henrietta, NY who attends Rush-Henrietta Senior. Recorded a 7.86 second sixty-yard dash time. Compact frame with strong looking lower half and room to physically mature. Primary catcher with a developing catch-and-throw skill set; incorporates deliberate actions throughout the process, while imploring a longer mid-line transfer and slightly uphill throwing action. Displayed accurate throws during drills that will continue to improve with refinements to his footwork and additional arm strength. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider base with an even hand set and small leg lift trigger. Incorporates rotational lower half movements to get to launch, while using an aggressive upper half to deliver the barrel. Middle-to-opposite field approach due to slightly elongated swing path. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and physical maturity. Excellent Student.
