Gunnar Maas is a 2025 C/3B, OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Richmond, TX who attends Foster. Recorded a 7.81 second sixty-yard dash time. Long, lean frame with plenty of time and room to fill out. Primary catcher that receives from a slight side-saddled stance and has a developing defensive skill set behind the plate. Uses deliberate footwork out of the crouch, gains some ground and recorded arm strength up to 70 mph during drills. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, flashing aggressive actions into the process and developing arm strength up to 74 mph. Maintains good momentum into release by using a big crow-hop and had a tendency to sail the ball on his throws. Will continue to improve in all facets defensively with some minor refinements. Right-handed hitter that hits from an even stance with a tight hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Displayed a tight turn with his lower half, allowing for some whip to his barrel and showed the ability to stay compact into contact. Stayed consistent throughout and will continue to improve as he adds strength.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
