Greg Harrison is a 2009 RHP/3B with a 6'0'', 170 lb. frame from Hilton Head, SC who attends Hilton Head HS. He has a lean and lively athletic build with lots of strength potential. Harrison is a top level two-way prospect and could develop either way. On the mound, Harrison throws froma very slow and deliberate delivery that is balanced and directional. He has a mid 3/4's release and will sometimes drop lower than that, especially on his curveball. Harrison's fastball was steady at 86-88 mphwith nice running action. His curveball showed potential but he got under it frequently from the lower release point and it hung in the middle of the strike zone. Harrison's change up was a potential plus pitch, he had very good arm speed and a consistent release to it at 78 mph. One thing Harrison will have to adjust to is that he was 1.8 - 2.2 sec. to the plate from the stretch and that is giving even bad runners a free base. As a hitter, Harrison has quick, strong hands and very good bat speed from an open, spread stance. He has lift and extension in his swing and has an idea what he's doing at the plate. Harrison isn't close to being physically mature and could really develop some power over the next few years. He has plenty of athleticism to play third base. Harrison is also an excellent student.
