2024 Mid-South High School All-State Games (Invite Only)
Tyler Kiely is a 2027 C/RHP, 1B, 3B with a 5-10 190 lb. frame from Knoxville, TN who attends Grace Christian Academy. Kiely ran an 8.47 sixty yard dash. Primary catcher with a medium frame with some strength present throughout. Coming from a higher set hips at an even stance setup, receiving the ball softer out in front creating direction to second base with accurate throws on a line. Right handed hitter with a narrow upright open base, working with a smaller leg lift trigger the hip turn is aggressive into a quick compact swing through the zone with some strength at impact. On the mound Tyler showed a tight drop step into a hip height leg lift. He showed an arm action that was side arm that helped generate plenty of ASR on the fastball which peaked at 73mph. He would raise his arm slot on the breaking ball which had 12-6 shape with some late tightness and depth to it. Keily repeated his movements well with plenty of athleticism to the operation.
