Chase Collins is a 2028 C/RHP/IF with a 5-8 145 lb. frame from Randleman, NC who attends Providence Grove. Medium athletic build with some strength for a 13 year old and more to come. Very good runner for his age, 7.06 in the sixty. Plays both catcher and infield and looked very good at both positions. Athleticism is obvious behind the plate with compact and quick actions, still learning his footwork throwing but the arm strength is solid. Graded out better at present in the infield, footwork is very good and closes out on the ball well, makes first accurate throws, plays infield defense with confidence. Right handed hitter, hits from a narrow and open stance with a low forward hand load, has some lower half drift into contact, has some hand quickness but can load them in a more advantageous position, mid field to pull side line drive contact. Also pitched, slow paced controlled delivery with some back and hip turn, compact and quick arm action with some hesitation in the take away. Fastball topped out at 73 mph, curveball was a very good pitch with 2300+ spin rates and nice 11/5 shape. Very good athlete who ha a chance to excel in all areas of the game with development. Named to the 13U/14U Atlantic Coast Showcase Top Prospect List.
