Alex Hoffman is a 2026 C/RHP/3B with a 6-2 205 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Charlotte Catholic. Big and strong athletic build. High level two-way prospect. Primary catcher on defense, has outstanding raw arm strength, longer arm action with a hitch in back can be cleaned up, plenty of athleticism in his movements and footwork. Also plays third base and the arm shows cleaner there with outstanding carry, charges the ball well. Right handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a rock back load, has an easy and repeatable load and trigger and got the barrel out front consistently, lifting swing path with very good bat speed and impact, projects big power down the road. Also pitches, big rocker step to start his delivery, has a compact arm action and a high 3/4's arm slot, gets on top of the ball well, has rhythm to his mechanics. Fastball sat in the low 90's and topped out at 94 mph, high spin fastball characteristics. Slider was a solid pitch with short and tight break and 2500+ rpm. Will be fun to watch as he develops on both sides of the ball. Good student, verbal commitment to Virginia Tech.
