Jayden Prokopenko is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 6-0 168 lb. frame from Manalapan, NJ who attends Manalapan. Medium athletic build with the beginnings of some present strength. 6.69 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, comes to the ball well, quick release with nice fluid transitions and footwork, compact quick arm action, made accurate throws with some carry. Right handed hitter, sets up in a straight stance with a high back elbow load, has some strength in his swing, hits behind the ball and creates some back spin and carry, looking to impact it out front, projects well as a hitter. Took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch with a low hand start, compact arm action to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball topped out at 85 mph with some run/sink and low spin rate characteristics, threw strikes with his fastball. Curveball was a solid second pitch with good power and some 11/5 tilt and biting action. Has some mound talent to further develop. Good student. Named to the PG Northeast Academic Showcase Top Prospect List.
