Tyson Cota is a 2022 OF/LHP with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from New Albin, IA who attends Kee. Recorded a 7.08 second sixty yard dash time. Medium frame with a long and lanky build. Primary outfielder, has a controlled approach and fields the ball out front, staying low to the ground throughout the process. Stiff and segmented actions overall, utilizes a short arm action and struggles to get over his front side at times. Secondary left-handed pitcher with drop and drive lower half mechanics and developing balance in the operation, tends to fall off center. Has some funk and deception to the look that could make for a tough at bat. Flashed a curveball with 1-7 shape and good bite/tilt, will be a go-to pitch for him. Left-handed hitter with a closed stance and a low hand set, has a wide base and utilizes a no stride trigger. Rotational swing with stiff arms, has a strictly-pull side approach and found some solid barrels to that side. Level bat path and line drive plane, front side tends to fly open early, produced some hard contact when connecting out front. Great student.
