2025 PG Sophomore National Showcase (2028 Grads)
Jesse Covington is a 2028 SS/RHP/OF with a 6-3 165 lb. frame from Greensboro, NC who attends Wesleyan Christian Academy. Long and lean athletic build, outstanding physical projection. Right handed hitter, sets up in a wide base with a deep hand load, fires his hands well and creates lots of bat speed, gets extended through the zone and creates lift and impact, best working gap to gap, big offensive projection here. 6.51 runner in the sixty. Primary shortstop on defense, has soft hands and good glove work to the back hand, big arm strength across the diamond, dropped slots comfortably throwing, advanced actions charging the ball. Also worked out in the outfield and profiles as a potential high level center fielder on the grass with speed and arm strength. Took a turn on the mound, has a low effort delivery and a compact and quick arm action, stays balanced and directional well. Fastball was in the upper 80's, mostly straight. Change up was his best pitch with nice arm speed and some fade, sells it well. Flashed a developing slider. Quality all around athlete and player. Good student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
