Izayah Najera is a 2028 C/RHP, MIF, OF, UT with a 5-7 142 lb. frame from Riverside, CA who attends Norco. Features a smaller/lean frame with plenty of room/time to add. Ran a 8.11 60-yd dash. In the INF, showed solid actions. Present lateral quickness to the feet that work well to both sides. Showed some hesitancy to the backhand side but there's some glove skill there. Exhibited an avg. exchange with some regather that hurt quickness to release. Used a shorter arm action that got off accurate throws across with avg. strength. Behind the plate its developing catch/throw ability. Was in a higher set up and showed avg. exchange ability and quickness and minimal accuracy with throws. Did show athleticism and skill with receiving and blocking throughout gameplay. At the plate, showed hitterish tendencies. He sits in an athletic stance and uses a leg lift trigger where he lands balanced. Showed a compact swing where his strong and quick hands throw the barrel on a direct path with above avg. bat speed for his level. Showed a pullside approach that produced plenty of hard liners and it translated in-game. On the mound, showed an uptempo delivery where he gets down the mound with some quickness. Smaller sit with his lower half where he pushes hard off the rubber. Torso works more down for an east/west plane of rotation. Arm action was loose/continuous to a normal 3/4 slot that showed above avg. armspeed for his level. He ran the fastball up to 75 that flashed both run and cutting action at times. Also mixed in an upper 60s slider that showed shorter action to it. Named to Top Prospects List.
