2024 Sunshine South Showcase (Tues-Wed)
Edmond (Maxime) Gonzales is a 2025 LHP/OF with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from Houston, TX who attends St. John's. Slender high waisted young build with lots of room to get stronger. Works from a standard wind up from the third base side of the rubber, has a full arm swing in back with a low 3/4's arm slot coming through, lands slightly closed out front but gets over his front side well, repeats his mechanics well. Fastball worked in the low 80's and topped out at 84 mph, gets consistent arm side life on his fastball and throws strikes with the pitch. Slider was a very good pitch for him, can throw it with intent to both sides of the plate and throw it in-zone or out of zone as a two strike pitch. Strike thrower with deception and an idea how to pitch. 7.55 runner in the sixty. Worked out in the outfield but did not hit. Good student. Named to the Sunshine South Showcase Top Prospect List.
