Brody Phillips is a 2027 MIF/RHP/OF with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Arcola, IL who attends Arcola High School. A medium frame and build with some twitch and strength. Ran a 6.64 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop who worked out at the position with some bounce to the feet and speed to the actions. He threw from an extended three-quarters arm slot, with some feel for the release. He had a longer arm action, with a good flight working across the zone. He's a clean mover who has a feel for the actions and some sneaky athleticism that shows. He moves well to it and through it, getting through the throws well, getting up to 81 mph on his throws. He also worked out as an outfielder, showing some strength, moving hunched over as he approached the ball. He was able to work through it well with one-hop accuracy from an extended three-quarters slot here as well. He worked around the bag and had a clue for the actions. Some athleticism here as well. He's a right-handed hitter with a spread base, high hands, and a higher back elbow. He has some looseness to the operation with a good shift onto the backside before striding into it. He has a minimal leg lift with some reach in the front side. He takes his hands to it and drives the ball well, working on the pull side. He shortened up at times with some ability to stay through the ball well. There was some bat speed and ability to turn on the ball. He got uphill through the point of contact and was able to work in all fields. Added a few hits in-game to get the job done for his team. Also took the mound as a right-handed pitcher. He works from the wind-up with a leg lift at the belt. The lower half moves pretty well, and he has some push when working down the slope. He throws from a three-quarters arm slot with a fluid release, showing a feel working down the slope. He shortens up the leg lift from the stretch and works directly down the mound. The fastball worked up to 79 mph and held in the upper 70s. The pitch had some riding life and carry through the zone. He also showed a tighter shaped breaking ball in the mix as well. Also flashed a changeup with some depth as well. He commanded the zone early on in the outing. Good student. Named to 2024 St. Louis Uncommitted TP List.
