Owen Duncan is a 2029 SS/RHP/2B with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Waxhaw, NC who attends Undecided. Tall, lean and high waisted frame with plenty of room to add strength. Recorded a 7.57 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary middle-infielder with a fundamentally sound defensive skill set and plenty of things to like moving forward. Showed a good first step and plenty of lateral range to either side, while showcasing online, accurate throws up to 80 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked from an abbreviated windup with good rhythm and tempo throughout the delivery. Incorporates good direction and usage of his lower half down the slope and repeats his movements efficiently. Fastball worked in the mid-to-upper 70s for the majority of his outing, peaking at 80 mph in this look from an extended three-quarters arm slot. Showed aptitude for spin with the ability to land his two-plane slider for strikes, while showcasing some acumen to manipulate the speed and shape to it. Will only continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Took part in the outfield portion of the defensive workout as well, where he showed sound footwork and clean transitions to deliver accurate throws up to 77 mph during drills. Right-handed hitter that hits from a wider, even base with a high hand set, high back elbow and hover trigger. Compact, line drive stroke with some present bat speed, feel for the barrel and some impact potential when on-time. Will continue to improve with proper swing adjustments and additional strength.
