Jacson Taplin is a 2027 OF/LHP/1B with a 5-8 127 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends Home School. Tall and thin young build. 7.96 runner in the sixty. Played both outfield and first base on defense, has better actions presently at first base with some lateral agility and softness to his glove, developing arm strength at both positions. Left handed hitter, hits from a spread stance with a high hand/back elbow load, rocks back and in to time his swing, occasionally gets stuck on his back side, swings hard and has some hand quickness for his size and age, middle of the field line drive contact, bat speed will continue to improve with strength and physical maturity. Also pitched, works from the stretch with a high 3/4's arm slot, limited lower half drive down the mound and tends to decelerate his body into his release. Fastball was in the mid-50's to go with a soft curveball. Very good student.
