Erik Herrera is a 2025 3B/RHP/1B with a 5-8 195 lb. frame from Pharr, TX who attends Psja North. Big build athlete had a very sound showing overall, he has potential to compete at a high level with added athleticism. He posted a 8.42 in the 60 yard dash. Primary 3B, there was a lack of footwork playing up the middle. Shows limited range and flat steps to approach. His hands are soft receiving and he shows clean glove skills. Transfer is fluid but stands up with it stopping some momentum to the target. Good throws with a feel for the arm actions, has more to offer when he syncs the pieces up and plays light on the feet. At first base, he plays comfortably and showed some good short burst laterally with a confident glove. Sits back on the ball for now, but he had good turns and a quick short arm across that worked well. Also pitched, the right hander was up to 72 mph with the FB that showed some late run and spun a loose breaking ball. Younger looking actions on the mound that have some moving pieces. Pretty simple delivery, has a slow high leg lift with a narrow stride. Not much force generated or downhill action but looks to get into the back side some. Quick and compact arm action translates from the field. His lower half development will have big impact on his tools as he progresses. Right handed hitter, starts with an open stance and can get closed moving into contact. His swing showed a linear to downward path with a lot of hands involved but he connects strong and finds the barrel. Theres some strength present when he gets into one pull-side and the ball has some carry off the barrel. Looks like he is headed in the right direction, plenty to growth across his skills ahead of him..
