Hector Garcia III is a 2028 C/RHP, 1B, 3B, OF with a 5-6 165 lb. frame from Rio Grande City, TX who attends Rio Grande City. Medium frame with strong compact current build and plenty of time to add physicality. Ran the 60 yard dash in 8.79 seconds. Primary position catcher, starting from a one knee down initial stance. Moves into throws with good dexterity and quick footwork. Accurate glove work with clean midline transfer and quick transfer to throw. Gets rid of the ball in a timely fashion and generated throws up to 68 mph with pop-time best 2.07 seconds. Reps on the infield as well, similar firm glove work making plays and throwing the ball accurately across the diamond. Secondary RHP, with a compact delivery and long arm action inline with torso. Full windup with belt high leg lift creating a fastball up to 74 mph with sinking type action. Softer curveball in the upper 50s with two-plane shape. RHH working from a wider stance using hanging leg lift and good handset to start. Short stride and rotational upper body swing with very little backside release. Projectable power as the hands start to loosen up and when he stays in the middle of the field. Present dense strength that will translate down the line. Outstanding student as well.
