Nicolas Acosta is a 2028 RHP/3B/OF with a 6-0 145 lb. frame from Humble, TX who attends Kingwood Park. Tall, lean, and athletic build with room to add strength. Ran a 7.16 in the sixty. Primary right-handed pitcher, throws from a mid three-quarter arm slot with a compact, controlled delivery. Fastball topped at 76 mph, working mostly 71–76 mph with downhill plane and some arm-side life. Breaking ball at 59 mph showed early shape with depth and spin near 2073 rpm. Mixed in a changeup around 65–69 mph that showed fade and occasional tumble. Flashed command feel at times, forcing weak contact and popups when timed up. Projects well with added physicality and strength. Defensively, shows solid arm strength for his age with throws up to 76 mph from both the infield and outfield. Moves well laterally at third base, showing reliable hands and a developing internal clock. Outfield actions are compact with a small crow hop and accurate throws that carry. At the plate, right-handed hitter with a narrow, upright setup and medium leg lift trigger. Uses a short, simple path and makes consistent contact out front. Flashes line-drive contact to all fields when timed up. Developing hitter with good balance and projection remaining in both his frame and tools.
