Rafael Valdovinos is a 2026 1B/RHP, C, 3B, OF with a 5-10 179 lb. frame from Southgate, MI who attends Southgate Anderson. Primary corner infielder with a medium frame and athletic build. Showed good footwork from the infield moving well laterally. Starts and stays low on the gather and fields it cleanly out in front while working around the ball well. Watches ball into glove and sets himself up nicely to make timely throws with accuracy and strength. Has a quick transfer and release with clean arm action. Was up to 81 from the infield. Also played catcher starting out with a side saddle. Was direct and online with his throws with a short quick release. Has a clean transfer with soft hands and a quick arm. Throws had plenty of strength and carry behind them. Was up to 75 from behind the plate with a 1.94 pop time. Projects well behind the plate as well. Also ran a 7.51 sixty. Left-handed hitter with slightly open feet. Has a quick set of hands which produces plenty of bat speed. Lots of strength off impact especially to pull. Swings with intent and works through it well controlling the barrel. Good student. Also named to the TP List.
