2025 PG National Underclass Showcase-Main Event Presented by GEICO
David Simpkins is a 2027 RHP/1B/3B with a 6-0 197 lb. frame from Wesley Chapel, FL who attends Freedom. Medium frame with physical size and strength to his build. Ran a 7.36 60-yard dash. Primary right-handed pitcher, stretch only with a medium leg lift and slight turn at the top, drop and drive delivery, works into a higher three-quarter slot release, longer arm action, repeats well, 11-5 shape to slider with 2500+ spin rates, up to 86-mph not he fastball, good tumble to his 80-mph change. Secondary first baseman, has feel for the spot, glove works well, changes slots nicely, solid overall, long shuffles into throws, low slot release. Right-handed hitter, even base, high hands and high back elbow, leverage to the swing path and wants to get it in the air, strength in the hands and possesses some raw power, barred load, some power potential to unlock in the offensive profile. Outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
