James Brooks is a 2028 SS/RHP/3B with a 5-10 165 lb. frame from Guyton, GA who attends South Effingham. Medium, athletic frame with square shoulders and some present strength, additional room to develop. Ran a 7.83 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball out front and gets it down early, works into a longer arm action, shows strength and carry across the diamond, makes the plays and will continue to refine overall actions. Also pitched, leg lift up to core at start of delivery, up-tempo pace and shows a fast arm through the back working to a high three-quarters release point. Fastball topped out at 82 mph, worked around the zone and able to miss bats throughout. Maintains arm speed on the slider well up to 73 mph, tight spin with late bite and ability to miss bats. Two pitch mix for strikes. Right-handed hitter, begins with a slightly open stance and a wider base, even in the set up box. Turns the barrel well in swing with some strength and able to get the barrel out front at point of contact. Has rhythm to swing and gets the barrel to the ball consistently while working the gaps, occasionally gets uphill with path. Excellent student. Named to the 14u Georgia All-State Games Top Prospect List.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
