Jake Plainte is a 2024 OF/LHP with a 5-11 150 lb. frame from Olney, MD who attends Our Lady Of Good Counsel. Recorded a 7.74 in the 60-yard dash. Primary outfielder with a good line through the ball gloves the ball deep in the backside with a good, clean transfer accurately throwing the ball 80 mph to the bases. Right-handed hitter steps to the plate with the crouched, open stance and a high handset with a toe tap trigger creating lift on his swing. Plainte has good barrel control as he is developing backspin on the ball. Secondary left-handed pitcher from the stretch only moves with an above the belt coiling leg lift landing closed off with good extension out of a low three-quarter arm slot. His fastball has arm side run and he presents good command of the zone topping 81 mph while mixing in good off-speed pitches and a nice, tight slider out of the same arm slot. Excellent student.
