Carter Stoltz is a 2023 C/RHP, MIF with a 6-0 160 lb. frame from Davis, CA who attends Davis. Large frame with a lean build showing room to fill out physically in the future. Ran a 7.04 second sixty yard dash. Primary Catcher, starting square as he sat down in his stance athletically. Proved to have feel for the glove as he spotted up on the corners. Fundamentally sound in his footwork on throw downs as he gained ground and released with urgency. Accurate around the bag as he recorded a pop time of 2.20 seconds. Secondary Right-Handed Pitcher, working with a smaller gather step to a belt high lift as he turns away from the plate. Unwinds and drives down the mound while online to his target. Whip to the arm as he released from a three-quarter slot while filling up the zone. Fastball up to 79 mph while working both sides of the plate. Mixed in a slurvy breaking ball with 10-to-4 movements that he landing for strikes. Rounded off his three pitch mix with a changeup that was work in progress but good when down in the zone. Right-Handed Hitter, starting even and relaxed with bat waggle proving to have some rhythm. High hands as he works into separation with a small stride forward. Fires the hips and stays linear through the zone as he proved he could impact out front. Gap to gap type pop as he found the barrel consistently. Outstanding Student.
