Layne Sevcik is a 2027 C/RHP/IF with a 5-9 140 lb. frame from Hallettsville, TX who attends Sacred Heart. Smaller frame with a lean and athletic build. Ran a 7.17 second 60-yard dash. Primary catcher, short movements and gains little ground, some length transfer and the release but solid arm strength now, good pops as a whole. Plays infield and outfield too, clean approach and receives well, up to 80 from the outfield showing good arm strength. Pitches too, deliberate delivery and stays on line, longer arm action and runs the fastball downhill pretty well, up to 75 and showed some feel for bigger vertical breaking ball. Right-handed hitter, wide base and open, some length to the swing as he casts his hands out, good intent and quickness as a whole, uphill finish and solid impact.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
