Ethan Mattingly is a 2027 SS/RHP, 2B with a 5-6 133 lb. frame from Ashburn, VA who attends Briar Woods. Recorded a 8.20 second sixty-yard dash time. Small, slender frame with plenty of room and time to fill out. Primary shortstop with a solid defensive skill set that will continue to improve with physical maturity and additional arm strength. Showed a clean funnel out in front, good lateral range to either side and the ability to throw on the run. Recorded developing arm strength up to 66 mph across the diamond. Secondary right-handed pitcher that works with deliberate pace to his delivery, short leg lift into balance and short stride out to foot strike. Incorporates drop and drive lower half mechanics down the slope, working into a high three-quarters arm slot. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 60s for the duration of his outing, topping out at 68 mph in this one. Mixed in developing breaking ball that varied in shape and showed gradual depth. Right-handed hitter that hits from a slightly open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Rotational swing mechanics with minimal weight shift into contact, pull-side approach and developing bat-to-ball skills. Flatter swing path with best impact to the left-side of the field, will continue to improve with additional physical strength and proper swing adjustments.
