Jake Shoemaker is a 2027 OF/RHP with a 5-11 195 lb. frame from Round Rock, TX who attends Cedar Ridge. Medium build with good present strength. 6.80 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, moves well to the ball with coordinated actions, keeps his feet under him well with good direction into his throws, long arm action with some carry and good accuracy. Left handed hitter, starts in a straight stance with a short stride into contact, uphill swing plane with some feel to leverage the ball, has fast hands and solid bat speed, patient hitter who sees the ball and worked numerous walks in the games, best contact to the pull side. Also took a turn on the mound, works exclusively from the stretch with a full arm swing to a high 3/4's arm slot. Fastball was mostly in the upper 70's and topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight. Threw a soft curveball for strikes early in counts, also mixed in an occasional change up. Good student.
