Gavin Fochtman is a 2025 OF/RHP/UT with a 6-1 165 lb. frame from North Caldwell, NJ who attends Seton Hall Prep. Lean and long build with lots of room to get stronger. Left handed hitter, hits from a bent over slightly open stance with a tight hand load, back tap load into his swing, has some strength and quickness in his hands and generates some bat speed, line drive contact with some gap to gap carry, has some projection as a hitter. 7.70 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, showed good fundamental actions through the ball and in his transition to throwing, over the top arm slot, can get on top of his throws more consistently. Also pitched, hides the ball well in his delivery and gets down the mound well, has a loose arm and repeats his mechanics well. Threw lots of strikes with a fastball that topped out at 77 mph, also threw a curveball for strikes at any count while showing good pitchability and awareness. Looks to be a high IQ player who is also an outstanding student.

Swing Efficiency™
Swing Efficiency™ is a score from 0-100 based on how fast you move your body compared to other players of a similar height and weight. Our library of over 10,000 hitters shows that for a given body type, higher swing efficiencies generate higher exit velos. PG All-American Arjun Nimmala may only weigh 170 lbs, but he can still hit 103MPH off a tee thanks to his elite Swing Efficiency™.
