Joseph Young is a 2027 C/RHP/1B with a 6-2 195 lb. frame from College Station, TX who attends A & M Consolidated. Larger frame with present strength and room to add. Recorded a 6.98 second sixty-yard dash time. Primary catcher that received from a both a one-knee stance and side-saddled stance at-times, gains tons of ground towards his target but comes out of crouch early. Maintains direct midline transfer, has some arm strength and produced fairly accurate throws up to 78 mph during drills. Secondary right-handed pitcher that worked exclusively from the stretch in this look. Tall-to-fall mechanics with medium stride length down the slope. Fastball worked in the low-to-mid 70s for the majority of his outing and topped out at 78 mph from a high three-quarters arm slot. Strike thrower that competes in the zone with his fastball, showed developing feel for spin with looser 11-5 shaped curveball that had gradual depth to it. Will continue to improve with mechanical refinements and additional velocity. Right-handed hitter that hits from an upright, open stance with a high hand set, high back elbow and toe-tap trigger. Intent based stroke with present bat speed and legitimate impact potential. Displayed some feel for the barrel and performed well in-game action as well. Named to the South High School All-State Games Top Prospect List.
