Ethan Ruiz is a 2026 C/2B with a 5-11 160 lb. frame from Mendota Heights, MN who attends St. Thomas Academy. Medium size frame. Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Primary catcher with a square set up and online footwork with developing catch and throw skills, average transfer and developing arm strength. Also worked out in the infield showed developing footwork, some fluidity working through the baseball, average glove actions and accuracy across the diamond. Hit from a even base with load stride timing. Pull side approach, flys open, level path through the zone and feel for getting to the barrel generating a lot of top spin line drives to the pull side. Showed a three pitch mix out of a high three-quarter arm slot. Fastball up to 79 out of a clean arm action, maintined arm speed on the curve that showed developing feel for spin and showed real feel for turning over a changeup with fading action. Solid strike thrower with three offerings. Some two way potential. Very good student.
