Connor Nelson is a 2023 1B/RHP/UT with a 6-4 185 lb. frame from Gig Harbor, WA who attends Peninsula. Long and lean athletic build with lots of growing ahead of him. Right handed hitter, hits from a tight hand load with a big lower half drift into contact, takes his hands with him and has a short compact swing, with his length and leverage will want to develop more extension and separation through contact, flashed pull side power when he was able to get the barrel out front, uses the whole field. 7.40 runner in the sixty and plays first base on defense, looks to have the athleticism and arm strength to play in the outfield as well. Took a turn on the mound, slow paced step by step delivery, high 3/4's arm slot that enables him to work downhill, front side tends to come off-line early and create side to side command issues. Fastball topped out at 83 mph, mostly straight with occasional arm slide life. Tended to drop his arm slot on a sweeping slider, had better shape and power when he was on top of it. Good student.
