James Kennedy is a 2025 LHP/1B/OF with a 5-11 185 lb. frame from Ramsey, NJ who attends Ramsey. Larger, sturdy frame with projection remaining. Primary left-handed pitcher, utilizes a full wind-up delivery with a controlled leg lift that rises up above the belt. Breaks the hands at the belt and into an inline arm path. Releases the baseball from a high three-quarters slot. Pushes off the third base side of the rubber. Fastball showed some arm-side run and life through the zone, ultimately peaking at 77 mph. Curveball took on a 12-6 appearance with very abrupt depth and spin up to 2530 rpm. Commanded the breaker well down in the zone and sequenced it effectively. Changeup showed tumble action with late fade. From the outfield, worked through the baseball with urgency and pulled down hard into release. Separates into a shorter arm path. Displayed developing footwork and athleticism. Delivered accurate throws with arm strength up to 81 mph. Left-handed hitter, starts in an open stance with a low back elbow and high hand set-up. Utilizes an inward toe-tap trigger before working into a flatter bat path. Creates good strength at impact. Has consistent barrel skills with the ability to work the entire field. Stays short to the ball and attempts to create leverage. Posted an exit velocity of 84 mph. Ran a 3.99 thirty-yard dash. Excellent student.
