Joshua Newton is a 2026 3B/RHP/MIF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Westfield, IN who attends Hamilton Heights. Compact build with good strength for his age. Right handed hitter, hits from a wide base with a small lift and replace leg timer, limited weight shift, deep hand load in back, direct hands driven swing and has quick and strong hands, gets on plane early and stays there through the ball, has some bat speed and ability to impact, barreled up everything in the games and owned every at-bat, has hitterish tendencies and appearance. Runs well, 6.73 in the sixty. Primary third baseman on defense, has some lateral quickness and good lower half actions, tends to get the glove down late and field deep, longer transition with an over the top arm slot. Also pitched, has drop and drive mechanics and plenty of energy down the mound, longer 3/4's arm stroke. Fastball topped out at 78 mph with some cutting action that got into left handed hitters. Threw a slurve like breaking ball and a fading change up as his secondary offerings. Good student. Named to the Sunshine Southwest Showcase Top Prospect List.
