2024 Puerto Rico National Showcases Qualifier
Pablo G. Vargas Díaz is a 2025 OF/LHP with a 6-0 178 lb. frame from Hatillo, PR who attends Carlos Beltran Baseball Academy. Nice athletic build with some present strength and room for more in the future. Left handed hitter, has a big leg raise load to start his swing, gets his foot down on time, gets into his back hip and lower half well to drive his swing, pull approach with some lift out front, was consistent getting into the zone on time and showed his power potential well. 7.31 runner in the sixty. Primary outfielder on defense, cross body thrower from a 3/4's arm slot, has good arm strength and makes accurate throws, could raise his slot for more carry, fields the ball cleanly. Also pitched, has a low effort and easy delivery. Fastball worked mostly in the low 80's and topped out at 85 mph, works up in the zone consistently with his fastball. Still developing feel and arm speed on his breaking ball. Very good student. Named to the Puerto Rican National Showcases Qualifier Top Prospect List.
