2022 PG Underclass All-American Games
Michael Furmanek is a 2024 RHP with a 6-6 180 lb. frame from Plainfield, IL who attends Plainfield East. Tall and lean athletic build with lots of room to get stronger. Full hands over head delivery with a big side step start, multi-part delivery, high leg raise, tall and fall mechanics. Worked between side arm and mid-3/4's on his release point, raw stuff was much better the higher he got his release point. Fastball was 87-88 mph with huge late dive and sink from mid-3/4's, tended to flatten out in the mid-80's from the lower slot. Not consistent with his arm speed on the breaking ball from the lower slots, really got behind it well with consistent arm speed from the mid-3/4's slot and showed hard mid-70's biting life. Very projectable young arm, especially if he can make the mechanical adjustments. Good student. Named to the PG Underclass All-American Games Top Prospect List.
